What is left?

 

Photo journalists in war, poverty or disaster areas have the task to capture those situation. Their goal becomes one to capture images that affect the viewer, a sense of sensationalism the media strives for. Children are often used to generate extra empathy.

 

By removing these children from the photos it becomes visible what is left of the photo without them. The work can be interpreted in several ways but is primarily intended to raise questions and awareness.
